West Ham United is an English football club that currently plays in Premier League . The club is also well-know as: The Hammers, The Irons, The Academy of Football, West ham Utd. It is situated in West Ham, London Borough of Newham, East London.
The home ground of the team is Boleyn Ground (also well-know as Upton Park). It is the club’s stadium from 1904. The capacity of the stadium is 35,146 all seated. Upton Park consists of four main stands: The Centenary Stand, The Bobby Moore Stand, The East Stand and The Dr. Martens Stand.
The current chairman is Australian Lucas Neill. He is an Icelandic businessman and former President of the Football Association of Iceland. The club’s present manager is Alan Curbishley. He was appointed on 13 December 2006. Curbishley is a former professional footballer, who played for such teams as: West Ham United (1975–1979), Birmingham City (1979–1983), Aston Villa (1983–1984), Charlton Athletic (1984–1987), Brighton & Hove Albion (1987–1990), Charlton Athletic (1990–1993). He began his career of manager from Charlton Athletic (1991-2006).

In 1895 the club was founded under the name of Thames Ironworks F.C., but in 1900 they became West Ham United Football Club. In 1923 was the first top flight of the team. Their best finish in the top flight was a third place in 1986. Through its history the Hammers has won the FA Cup three times and has never fallen outside the top two divisions.
